Pre-fabricated building board elements
In addition to L and U-shaped components, the pre-fabricated elements made from wedi building boards are particularly used for cladding bathtubs and shower trays.

wedi Mensolo -
Affixing bath shelves and cladding

Boxing in pipes using conventional materials takes time, creates mess and rarely creates an ideal substructure for tiling. This task can be done quickly and cleanly using wedi Mensolo angle units.
In addition, the practical U-shaped elements allow you to create your own shelf and support solutions, integrating them fully into the design of the bathroom.

Cut the L-shaped wedi Mensolo angle unit to the required length Affix the L-shaped wedi Mensolo angle unit to the wall with wedi 610 adhesive and sealant. Or screw it to the wall using wedi Tools connectors and board screws. Cover joints between building boards with wedi Tools self-adhesive reinforcement tape. Alternatively, it is possible to fix without reinforcement tape using wedi 610 adhesive sealant. Then tile or plaster as normal.

Simply cut the U-shaped, prefabricated wedi Mensolo unit to the required length, e.g. for creating shelves. Affix the angle unit to the wall with wedi 610 adhesive sealant. Then fix it securely in place with nailed dowels and cover the joints with self-adhesive reinforcement tape. After tiling as normal, the customised shelf is complete and ready to use.

wedi Bathbox -
wedi bathbox for cladding free-standing bathtubs

Discover your creative side by creating useful shapes around bathtub supports. Using the wedi bathbox, you can create a bathtub support and tileable cladding in just a few simple steps. By cladding the bathtub on all four sides, it can also be positioned right in the middle of the room. What’s more, it is also easy to create platforms, steps and storage surfaces right around the new bathtub using wedi building boards.

It is easy to adapt the height and width of the wedi bathbox to the dimensions of the bathtub using a box cutter or saw. Apply wedi 610 adhesive sealant along the tongue and groove edging. Assemble the corner elements and fix them in place using the screws supplied. The project can then proceed directly because there is no need to allow any time for drying. Cut the supplied bathtub floor support so that it is flush and fit it under the bathtub.

Apply wedi 610 adhesive sealant along the upper edge. Glue the wedi Bathbox to the floor. Apply again wedi 610 adhesive sealant and insert the bathtub element. If necessary, make a conical incision for the inspection opening and then tile it as normal.

I-board -
Quick and easy fitting of wall-mounted WCs

wedi I-Board is a prefabricated fitting element for cladding with wall-mounted WCs. With a width of 1,200 mm, it can easily be adapted to virtually all specific needs. Despite its light weight, it is extremely strong and stable. The installation cladding board can be tiled directly after fitting without the need for further pretreatment.

First cut the wedi installation cladding to the required size with a utility knife. Using a jigsaw, cut out a suitable opening for the flush actuator. Using a cordless screwdriver, fasten wedi Tools washers to the wall carrier frame with drywall screws (at least three fastening points per side). Now attach the previously cut strips of wedi I-Board to the top and sides using wedi 610 adhesive sealant.

Cover the joints with wedi Tools reinforcement tape embedded in standard thin-bed mortar or wedi Tools self-adhesive reinforcement tape. In wet areas, finish the joints with wedi Tools sealing tape or wedi 610 adhesive sealant. The installation cladding boards can be tiled directly without further pretreatment. The joints between the wall covering and the flooring and the corner joints of the wall covering must be treated as expansion movement joints.

Installation material for building boards -
wedi building boards are ideal as tile underlay

wedi building boards form the perfect base for tile setting using the thin-bed method. They can be fitted on almost any surface, and they are waterproof, heat-insulating, versatile, lightweight, and dimensionally stable.

Building boards for wet rooms -
Protection for walls in wet environments:
wedi building board Vapor

wedi Vapor building board is specially designed for applications where very high levels of humidity are a constant factor, such as commercial steam rooms and swimming pools.

It delivers the same premium brand production specification associated with wedi building board with the addition of a high quality factory applied vapour barrier on one side. When tested wedi Vapor buidling board exceeds the minimum industry requirement for Vapour resistance by nearly 6 times, and presents an excellent substrate for both ceramic and natural stone tiles as well as other finishes.
